It happened again; I couldn't say a word. It has always been like this.
Just like a pill, I swallow my words, afraid of what might happen if I speak. I become blind to physical things and deaf to my thoughts.
It has always been that way. I'm like a time bomb ready to explode, missing pieces I can't seem to find. My ears can't hold what's coming, voices, voices of those who complain and sigh.
Tears fall as my heart beats like a drum, with no one to guard it.
Can I ever be happy?
Happiness got tired of trying.
My heart is so troubled that peace couldn't stay.
I pray to God every morning, hoping He'll make a way and take it all away. The
Silent Struggle: Unexpressed Emotions and Internal Turmoil
Many people experience the overwhelming challenge of expressing their true feelings, often swallowing their words out of fear of judgment or misunderstanding.
This internal struggle can lead to a sense of blindness to the world around them and deafness to their own thoughts, creating a cycle of anxiety and emotional turmoil.
The metaphor of being a time bomb ready to explode captures the intensity of these unexpressed emotions, highlighting the missing pieces that seem impossible to find.
This struggle is compounded by the relentless voices of criticism and complaint, which only serve to deepen the sense of isolation and despair.
Overlooked Battles: The Amplified Struggles of Individuals with Disabilities
For individuals with disabilities, this struggle is often magnified by the additional challenges they face.
The world frequently overlooks the silent battles they endure, focusing only on physical limitations while ignoring the emotional and mental toll.
These individuals, too, swallow their words, fearing the judgment or misunderstanding that might follow if they were to speak their truth.
Their hearts beat with the same anxiety, and their tears fall with the same intensity as anyone else's.
Yet, despite these challenges, they continue to hold onto hope and pray for a better day, demonstrating incredible strength and resilience.
A Call for Recognition: Validating the Experiences of the Silenced
It is crucial for society to recognize and validate the experiences of those who struggle with communication and those with disabilities.
By standing with them and acknowledging their strength, we can help create a world where they feel seen, heard, and supported.
This involves actively listening to their stories, offering empathy and understanding, and advocating for their needs.
Can we foster an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to express themselves without fear, ultimately paving the way for a more inclusive and compassionate society? We can!
A CALL TO ACTION
As a society, we must strive to create an environment where everyone, especially children with disabilities, feel seen, heard, and supported. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that no one is left behind.
By actively listening, offering genuine empathy, and advocating tirelessly for the needs of those who struggle with communication and disabilities, we can foster a more inclusive and compassionate world.
Let us stand united as a community to ensure that every individual, particularly children with disabilities, feels valued and empowered to express themselves without fear.
Together, we can pave the way for a brighter and more hopeful future, where every child is given the opportunity to thrive and contribute to society, enriching our world with their unique perspectives and talents.
